Our Pre-employment academies can be tailor made specific to the requirements of your own company’s needs. Pilot have always been responsive to the needs of employers and therefore flexibility in deliver method is key to the success of our pre-employment programmes. We can for example run a specific programme with the training delivered on your premises and with support from your staff. Alternatively we can deliver the full programme at our premises and at the end offer you a selection of job seekers who you may wish to interview.
We would take away a large part of your lost resource going through CV’s and recruitment as we would carry out all the dealings with job centres. We would, for example, reduce 70 applicants down to a short list of 15 people who would then attend our academy. On paper these 15 candidates would be suitable to apply for positions with yourself but we then go a step further than this. We put the applicants through a 3 week training programme and at then end of this we only put the applicants forward that we feel will be of genuine interest to you.
When considering the suitability of applicants we will look at:
– Level of maths & English
– Physical requirements of the role you are looking to fill
– Any other requirements contained in the Job specification
The first process would be for us to discuss your needs as a company and the job role that you are looking to fill. We will then discuss this with the job centre and they refer what they believe are suitable candidates to Pilot for us to then assess in more detail their genuine suitability.
You do not need to have any concern in regards to receiving a large number of incoming calls from the job centre as all those calls go to our office and our dealt with by our dedicated pre-employment team. Successful applicants then attend our academy in Birmingham, however we can conduct the assessments on your premise if you wish and this is why it is fully bespoke to your company needs.
Once the assessments are complete, the 15 candidates will then attend the academy for 3 to 4 week and for 2 days per week. On completion of the course your company can decide who they wish to offer employment to. The candidates that are unsuccessful will still gain a full City & Guilds qualification for completing our programme. Our programmes are fully funded by the Skills Funding Agency so there is no charge to the applicant and no charge to you as an employer
